1. Density

Carbon steel density is slightly higher than ferrite and martenitic stainless steel, and slightly lower than austenitic stainless steel;

2. Resistance rate

The resistivity is increased by carbon steel, ferrite type, martenitic type and austenitic type stainless steel;

3. The ranking of line expansion coefficient is similar, austenitic stainless steel is the highest and carbon steel is the smallest;

4. Carbon steel, ferrite type and martensite type stainless steel are magnetic, austenitic type stainless steel is not magnetic, but its cold processing hardening of martensite phase change will produce magnetism, heat treatment method can be used to eliminate this martensite tissue and restore its no magnetism.

Austenitic-type stainless steel has the following characteristics compared with carbon steel:

1) High resistivity, about 5 times that of carbon steel.

2) Large line expansion coefficient, 40% larger than carbon steel, and with the increase of temperature, the value of the line expansion coefficient also increases accordingly.

3) Low thermal conductivity, about 1 / 3 of the carbon steel.
